Ted Heitschmidt, The Trenton Giants, 1950
This baseball is autographed by Ted along with other Giants,
I found it on an auction site:)
I got this email today:
My name is Greg Watts and I was doing some searching for my wife's uncle (Ted Heitschmidt) who played for the 1950 Trenton Giants and I happend upon your blog . I saw the picture you had posted of his team and was wondering if there was any way I could get a higher resolution copy of it. I would love to print it out and give it to Ted's younger brother.

I told him I got if off a net site and game him the address.
Do any of my readers have recollections of Ted?
Thank you all:)

Sure, I saw him.....I think he was a pitcher. Yes..he had to be... I know I had a one time, his and all the players signatures.

On second thought, I remember I was a wedding reception at the Polish Falcons Hall on N Olden Avenue in 1950... and Ted was there....
Mo Cunningham was of course a local boy and if I remember right...he helped get players lodging in private homes instead of hotels. So said that Ted lived somewhere is the Polish section of north Trenton, within walking distance to Dunn field. But I am not sure of that, I remember someone saying that at the wedding. Don't hold me to that, but I remember him there with other players.
Thanks Dad :)
Great stuff:)
