I HAD A NUMBER OF DINNERS AT "MARSILLIO'S KITCHEN" BACK IN THE 1950'S. GREAT FOOD, GREAT AMBIANCE.

Hi Tom:)
When I think of places like this, the old 1980s song..(Whitney Houston?).."DIDNT WE ALMOST HAVE IT ALL" goes thru my head. God bless the old Marsillios and good luck to the new one in Ewing:)

this was Janet Evanovich's favorite place in the Burg, she mentions it in a couple of her books, I have met her in person a number of times and the last time was at Marsilio's when she had her book signing in Trenton. I have the honor of being in some of her books. She and my dad were both born in South River, NJ, when I first met Janet we talked about that, she asked my name and LO and Behold, in her next book a character shows up with my last name Mrs Balog, then further on another called Punky Balog is on the scene. I have some emails from her from when the movie of her first book was in the works, I told her I wanted to play Stephanie's father, perfect casting, who better than a fat old Hungarian from the Burg to play it. She told me she sold all rights to the movie and would have no say. I'm waiting for her #17 to come out on the 21st of June. If anyone has not read her books you MUST, it is all BURG... (she loves Trenton and the Burg)

Steven I have tried to contact Janet to say I think her books are cool and for her to check out this site and have had no luck in doing so. Thank You for making the corner of the world I grew up in the setting for your books, Ms Evanovich:)

Mack, I sent an email to Janet this morning and I gave her the link to your site, also told her that she is mentioned a number of times in your blog. I know she must get a bunch of mail so I hope you get to hear from her..

Got a reply from Janet's people, here is my note to her and the reply, Alex is Janet's daughter, she handles the internet stuff.

> Hi Janet, We met in person a couple of time when I lived up in Trenton, NJ. I have since relocated to South Florida. We first met at a Trenton Thunder baseball game and while chatting I learned that you and my dad were both born in South River, NJ. You asked my name and the next thing I know Im in your books at least my name, Mrs Balog, Stephanie's neighbor, the wacky Punky Balog, and I think a couple of more. My friends love it when they see the name in a book.
> What I want to do is to give you a link that a fellow in Trenton has set up... a history of THE BURG. You are mentioned a number of times so I thought you may get a kick out of this.. http://mackstruckofwisdom.blogspot.com/
> Take care and I am looking forward to #17, I have them all. Thanks again

Hi Steve,

Ken here, Alex's assistant. I'm helping with the email.

Thanks for the blog site. It's nice to know there's a Balog who doesn't spend all his time greasing himself up with Vaseline.

Best,

Ken
