Radio DJs or TalkShow Hosts From Back In The Day

Radio DJs or TalkShow Hosts From Back In The Day

A cool thing about living in central New Jersey is you could
get many radio stations from New York and Philadelphia.
When I wasnt listening to the local Trenton area stations
I often listened to 77 WABC New York, 56 WFIL Philadelphia
and 96.5 WWDB Philadelphia (The Talk Station).
Here are a list of DJS for 77 WABC & 56 WFIL and talk show
hosts for 96.5 WWDB. Any of these names ring a bell?

77 WABC NEW YORK

Cousin Bruce ,Dan Ingram,Scott Muni ,Chuck Leonard, Ron Lundy,
Johnny Donovan,Harry Harrison, Big" Joe Rosenfeld.

56 WFIL PHILADELPHIA

Dr. Don Rose, Banana Joe Montione, Joe Niagara, George Michael,
Jim OBrien, Harvey Holiday, Tom Dooley, Dan Donovan,

96.5 WWDB Talk Radio PHILADELPHIA
Irv Homer, Tom Marr, Susan Bray, Dom Giordano, Sid Mark,

Note: Sid Mark was the one exception to the talk show format

But WBUD 126.0 on the radio dial ruled the local air waves.

We here in Trenton had the first "Shock Jock" of memory with The Joe Pine Show .... "lady, see that thing in front of you and if you don't like what you hear turn it off", with his show "Controversy".

Sadly, just as I rediscovered the familiar and soothing voice of Jack Pinto, also from the 1950's, and he was playing some great oldies mix (He had to be 80), the station was sold a few year ago.

They turned the town upside down with some wacky "hide the key" contests, back then giving clues that had every kid in town ripping the bushes and lifting garbage cans up. "Under the green tower by the" ... a church right?

Geeeeeeeeeee B Esssssssssss Time with George LuthRE Banister.

There was also WTTM but BUD was the local station.

Skip

I was on a military base over 500 miles away on a night watch and I smuggled a tiny radio to pass the hours. On a cold night the sound of Cousin Brucie made me feel at home for a minute. 77 WABC could be heard out west some nights.

Hi Skip:)
We were big fans of WBUD in the late 90s and 2000s until it got sold. An hour of Sinatra from 6 to 7 PM every weekday:)

Mack and Skip: Most of those jocks are spinning in rock and roll heaven now. Cousin Brucie is on Sirius Radio the 50's station on Monday and Wednesday nights at 7. Roe and I liked Jerry Blavat the Geeter with the Heater.

They have begun adding a growing number of various
and interesting watches for their lines, so that they can
show their flexibility and adaptation on
the times. People will notice your watch, a long time before they see
your shoes or another accessory you're wearing, so setting the proper tone is vital. After only months of dating, Khloe and Los Angeles Lakers forward Lamar Odom married.
