Pats Diner, South Broad Street, Franklin Park
The Trenton area legend. Still open 24 hours a day just like
it was in my Burg day and years before that. The home fries
and coffee are still great. They added the atrium in the
front like 25 years ago if I remember correctly. Friday
and Saturday night the tavern crowds would meet here and
a line would form going out the door. Everyone behaved well
as they waited their turn for a table or stool. It was a
great place to be and I was glad I was part of it all.

ANOTHER INCREDIBLY CLEAR PHOTO, MACK! THE DETAILS ARE SO VIVID THAT YOU SEEM TO BE ABLE TO WALK RIGHT IN AND HAVE A PAT'S DINER BREAKFAST LUNCH OR DINNER. PAT'S WAS A GATHERING PLACE FOR POLICEMEN BACK IN THE DAY. I WONDER IF IT IS STILL A GATHERING PLACE FOR THE MEN IN BLUE.

I think this is still a place for
police to gather in the wee hours
of the morning as its the only 24
hour diner I can think of in the area since Mona's closed down (Mona's was near South Broad Street and Liberty Street back in
my Burg days)...:)
DINERS WERE A VERY POPULAR PLACE DURING MY TIME. WE HAD BREAKFAST EVERY MORNING IN THE DINER ACROSS FROM THE OLD POST OFFICE ON E, STATE ST. I CAN RECALL DINERS ALL OVER THE AREA IN THE 40'S AND 50'S.
