I WOULD LIKE TO SAY A FEW WORDS ABOUT HOW MUCH WE APPRECIATED LIVING IN VILLA PARK FROM THE EARLY 1920'S TO 1937. OUTSIDE OF HAVING A LONG WALK TO JUNIOR 4, EVERYTHING ELSE WAS VERY CONVENIENT INCLUDING THE MANY HOURS SPENT AT WETZEL FIELDD. BEST REGARDS.

Hi Ralph:)
Was the Villa Park Deli on Revere Avenue and Roebling there in your Villa Park days?

YEAH MAC...THAT DELI WAS THERE WHEN WE FIRST MOVED TO VILLA PARK IN THE 1920'S. IT CHANGED HANDS MANY TIMES THROUGH THE YEARS. TOM GLOVER'S FRIEND, HOWARD MEEHAN LIVED NEXT DOOR FOR A LONG WHILE. JACK DAVIDSON WAS THE OWNER IN THE 20'S AND SPONSORED OUR BALL TEAM IN THE PLAYGROUND LEAGUE. IN LATTER YEARS THE FAUSTI'S FROM FRANKLIN STREET TOOK OVER. THE CORNER WAS THE MEETING PLACE FOR ALL THE GUYS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND THERE NEVER WAS A PROBLEM.
