The CYO, South Broad Street, The Burg

The CYO, South Broad Street, The Burg
I wanted to snap a picture that shows how large this historic
building really is. I love how they have restored the old CYO
sign (I have a close-up of it in another post).

MAC.... THIS WAS ACTUALLY THE LARGEST THEATRE THAT EVER WAS IN THE CITY. DURING THE DEPRESSION I NEVER KNEW HOW IT FELT TO SIT DOWN STAIRS, THEY CALLED THEM THE ORCHESTRA SEATS. WE ALWAYS SAT IN THE BALCONY UNTIL BETTER TIMES AND THEN WE FELT LIKE MILLIONAIRES. DURING MATINEAS THE BALCONY WAS 10 CENTS AND FIRST FLOOR WAS 25 CENTS. THESE PRICES GO ALONG WITH 25 CENT TOMATOE PIES AT RESTAURANTS AND 1 DOLLAR A WEEK PASSES TO RIDE THE BUS ALL WEEK. IT'S HARD TO IMAGINE THAT THIS ALL EXISTED AT ONE TIME. REGARDS.
