Jim Colello's question of the day (From his blog Broad Street
Park Yesteryears):

Jim Wrote (On his blog)

Received an inquiry from Dominick Azzaro formerly of 1848
South Broad Street. Dominick wonders how many people
remember Azzaro Tomato Pies, Poor Bill's, Sam's Liquor Store,
Guhl's 5&10, Popkins Shoes, Erv's Barber Shop and Universal
Drum Studio. Are any of these establishments a part of
your memories?

If any of my readers have memories and reflections of these
please go to Jims blog (which is on my Blog Roll).

Mack, when I worked at the Big and Tall Shop, I use to eat every late night at Azzaro's. Use to buy my liquor at Sam's.

Hi Joez:)
I thought of you when I posted
this. This might have been a
familar stop to many of the
Big & Tall Shop customers:))

My good friend Dick Wilshaw owned and operated Universal Drum Studio. He was a member of the "Carnival Brothers" Trio that worked many of the clubs in late 70's and early 80's. Since moved to Florida but I do see him once a year when he returns to visit family.

I remember the drum studio while studying for a business career at Rider College in the 1960's. I took some drum lessons from Dick Wilshaw. I regret not practicing my lessons seriously enough.
