254 & 256 Ashmore Avenue, The Burg
The smaller building here is 256 Ashmore Avenue which was
once Anthony Conti Musical Instruments.
The larger building to the right is 254 Ashmore Avenue
which was once Harry Conti's Barber Shop.
A Blog about the Chambersburg area of Trenton NJ. The Burg we all loved and miss. If you were from the Burg I hope many of the pictures and lists and comments under them from good folks bring back some nice memories. Villa Park, Franklin Park, South Trenton, and nearby Hamilton also mentioned. Use the search box atop the blog to find schools, churches, streets, stores, bars etc that you remember. Over 4000 posts and 3000 pics. Enjoy:)

Just recently communicated with Harry and his wife who presently reside in Florida. Harry played bass in a trio with me at the Botal Inn in 1961-62
Hi Tom:)
I walked by the former Botal Inn
only a few hours ago..was in the Burg for possible pics but it clouded up so no pics today.
I have a telecaster 83 i bought at
Russos I play around the house,
cant read music but have a good ear
and timing and know the chords or reasonable fascimile thereof for songs of my era.
Play and enjoy the music and don't be concerned about the details.... We made union scale at Botal which was $13 and Huck and Lucy fed us a great hamburger with all the trimmings. What a treat.
