Your Chambersburg Area Memories and Reflections
I would love to post some of your memories and reflections
of people and places and events in the Chambersburg area
from back in the day.
If you have any just tell me about them in the comments
below this post.
If you have family pictures and you grew up in the Burg
area please have a look at them and if any have Burg
scenery in the background we would love to see or have
pictures of people we would love to see please scan them
or have them scanned and email them to me at
Kirriemuir1962@gmail.com
Your memories and reflections could be about school, church,
parks, favorite restaurants, corner delis, bakeries, the
feast of lights, the columnbus day parade, the immaculate
carnival, places you worked,etc...
Very Important: Where it is possible please add insider details
to items.
Example: Broadway Record Center owner Chester would hand you a
card which he would punch each time you bought a record and after
it was punched ten times you would get a free record (I would
sometimes lose my punched cards).
The minute someone sees this who went to Broadway Record Center
back in the day they will say...oh yes!
And this blog is all about "Oh Yes !"
Thank You:)

I remember the fine restaurants and fun being there, places like LaGondola, my favorite, Lou Crecco's, The Casino for dogs. Places in my younger days, Paramount Bakery, The Chicken Store on South Clinton, Broadway Records and playing Pinball at Radice's Hole in the Hall.
Hi Joe:)
Thank You for your comment.
Where was Radice Hole in The Wall?
Guestimate is good..ie Broad St etc
How Many Pinball Machines did it have? How much did a game cost?
How much could you win?
Can you describe any dining experience at Creccos..
You came in and waited X minutes
got served by X had X to eat
and you noticed X about the interior of the place etc.
Thank You as always Joe:)
PS: An upcoming post the next few days will be about LaGondola:)
Mack: It was on Broad St. same side as Wineberg's Dept. Store, think maybe 2 machines, cost a nickel.
Mack: Sorry about the second half of the questions. Roe's Aunt Angie use to make the salads there. The bar was neat for a drink before dinner, the clams casino were excellent. LaGondola was my favorite place, Angelo, his wife Linda, the father, Jerry the bartender really made the place. It was old, but the food and warmth of the place made you feel at home. I think Roe and I were there twice a week when we were dating.
Thank You JoeZ:))))
Radice's was on Broad St, across from the now CYO (old broad theater), 1 block down from Skeleton Library.
