201 2nd Street, South Trenton.
Once upon a time this was Mazaki's Tavern:)

hey....i used to live here.

my family and i lived in both second floor apts (front and back units). back first, then front.

louie and ann mazaki ran the tavern back then. (50s(?), 60s to mid 70s). they were really nice people!

we moved to the burg in 1969 after the bar was robbed a couple times, gunshots included.

sadly, during a robbery after we moved, louie was fataly wounded. i think i was about 9 years old. i was an altar boy at sacred heart and volunteered to serve at his funeral mass.

they made some of the best hamburgers i ever had. i guess they are "polish style" - steamed burgers (not fried or grilled) with kisling's sauerkraut and mustard on a bun! EXCELLENT!!! i am making them right now!!!

if anyone wants the recipe, let me know. it's really easy.

another thing...back then the bar was divided into the men's section (front - second st entrance) and the women's section (back room with a separate side entrance - furman st side). i think the men's section was mostly standing only (not many stools). the women's section was small and had a few tables and chairs.

it was a different world back then.
