1122 Anderson Street, The Burg
Once upon a time this was Stephen Lewis Tavern.
Then Cent'Ani's
I remember it used to have a big picture of Felix
the Cat on one of its exterior walls:)
A Blog about the Chambersburg area of Trenton NJ. The Burg we all loved and miss. If you were from the Burg I hope many of the pictures and lists and comments under them from good folks bring back some nice memories. Villa Park, Franklin Park, South Trenton, and nearby Hamilton also mentioned. Use the search box atop the blog to find schools, churches, streets, stores, bars etc that you remember. Over 4000 posts and 3000 pics. Enjoy:)

Steve Lewis was a friend of the family, but I guess many of the Burg pub owners were friends of the family. Back in the day, the bartenders were near celebrity types.
Steve's customers were a mix from the neighborhood, near and far. A specialty of the house was the uttering of less-than-proper words, in Hungarian, of course. Same words, same laughs, every time.
IN THE BACK YARD OF THE TAVERN WAS AN IMMENSE CHERRY TREE.
On May 13, 2017, Stephen Lewis, 52 yea-old grandson of the Tavern owner was laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery at Cedar Lane. RIP Stephen (wife Anna) and grandson Steve.
"Quo Vadis"? To Heaven Lord!
