325 Jersey Street, South Trenton. Once The Atlantic Mills
Department Store. This was a place we went often back in
the day:) Christmas Shopping, School Clothes, Useless toys:)
Records, the Works:)
A Blog about the Chambersburg area of Trenton NJ. The Burg we all loved and miss. If you were from the Burg I hope many of the pictures and lists and comments under them from good folks bring back some nice memories. Villa Park, Franklin Park, South Trenton, and nearby Hamilton also mentioned. Use the search box atop the blog to find schools, churches, streets, stores, bars etc that you remember. Over 4000 posts and 3000 pics. Enjoy:)

Everything was cheap on the 1st floor, go down the ramp and they were cheaper.
Used to sled on the hill as a kid
Letting the cart go so it bounced
on the rugs and clothing items
on the staircase going downstairs
was the thing to do!
I remember they had those 10
single 45s for a dollar..and most of the singles were worth even less
than 10 for a dollar.
UNLIKE Murphy's Album cutouts at
Independence Mall, some of which I
still have today:)
That hill would have been great in
snow:)
The place to go for pointed shoes and pegged pants/dungarees...all the "cool" cloths.
Spent a lot of shopping time there. Can you even imagine the kids today shopping at a place like that.

Anonymous...Kids now don't know what they missed. I used to beg my mom to go there, it was like a 3ring circus of stuff.
Barb,
Me too, I loved going there.

I always thought the tanks/machinery on the roof looked like spiders.
I think Mom used to shut us up
when shopping by buying us popcorn
here back in the day:)
...and a hot dog, that was twirling around on those metal rods in the cool hot dog machine. For a kid, that place had it all.
Also had good water ice.
I remember that popcorn machine. Lol
