Don't remember what street, Jersey and Home may have been in the area (if not the place..lol)..Vets Bar..right on the corner. What about Felix (bar?),hmmmm don't remember the street, but Queen Trinket 'worked' there..lol..

Thanks Rosemary!
The Vets Tavern is the one I was looking for on Home & Jersey...and Felix's on Genesee St was our afternoon lunch place and going-away-party place when I worked for the State of NJ...had my going away party there in 1979 when I lived on Hewitt St...Felix used to be a Trenton cop!

OOps...screwed up again!~

Vets Tavern was on Tremont & Jersey Sts....there was another bar on Home & Jersey..neither me or my brother Lou can remember the name....

I think the Purros Cafe mentioned on Emory Ave. was Pierro's Cafe. My uncle Mike owned it, bought it from Nick Rossi the previous owner, then called Rossi's. My dad use to do the cooking there. He loved to cook but was a beer salesman for Hub City. The last I remember it was called Ceasers.

Oh yeah, Queen Trinket was at Chit Chat..lol..

I remember Queen Trinket, OMG we are getting old.

Now this is going back to the late 60's...Pete Radice had a bar on Clinton St...think it was the 700 block..just a few houses before the curve and Roebling's administrative offices...I think there was an empty lot on the side.
Anyone remember? have info?

There was a little hole-in-the-wall bar on South Broad St..just past the 2nd District Firehouse and I think next to a hardware store owned by Tal Brody's parents...anyone remember it??

Does anyone remember the Buffstone on So. Olden Ave. Not the Burg but a pretty popular place.

Peters Place, Broad between Anderson and Division, Chickey DeNatale owned it for a while. Cent'anni, Felix Muciolli's on Anderson and Genesee. Paul, the hole-in the-wall was Feketes, Broad near Hudson by firehouse. Anybody remember Peters Precious Soul, great band from the late 60's?. Not the Burg, but how about Pine Tavern on Olden. And you couldn't beat the R & B at the Fantasy Lounge on Chambers, plus they couldn't tell how old white people were or Henderson's Club 50 on Hanover for jazz.

Hey Barb.......I'm the saxman from Peter's Precious Soul! Remember our opening theme song?? We played all over the area and into Pennsy..
played for some time at the Satellite Lounge....great group.

Also played the Pine Tavern (right next to the alley) with Bob Cairo and the group for awhile before we split up. then got together with Bobbie, Mike Cannon, Kurt ?? and formed Kurt & the Hot Spots..played many clubs and at the Cove on a steady basis. Peter's group was also know as Surprize, Peter's Surprize...

Also played at Feketes often..Curiosity Shop played there many times...good group.

Another hang-out place for many 'Burg people....Lanzi's on Liberty......great jazz....Richie Cole...Barbara Trent...

Paulie...I thought that was you with Peter. Was the opener "West Coast Promotion Man"?, Great group, everybody was doint middle of the road or 60's psy, that group had it's own sound. Curiosity Shop, can't remember everybody, Jack Pipenbrink-piano, Wimpy Carlisi-Sax, who else? Used to hook up with Jack a lot..Trenton and Wildwood, his folks had a place in the Crest. Jack was a Trenton cop, went back to school and became a lawyer. I was at Jack's funeral many years ago, he committed suicide. Never could figure out why a talented, good looking guy like him wanted to leave before his time.

Opening and break song..."I'm A Man"...and sometimes.."California Purples"...we did a lot of Chicago Transit Authority stuff. Pete was a great frontman..favorite medley I did..."Come Together" and "Something". Don't remember all the Curiosity Shop members..they did a lot of 3 Dog Night stuff.
Never know about muscians...strange breed!!!

Good shot'n'beer bar...Gliba's Clinton & Hudson.

Anonymous..that was called the Emory Bar and Grill. My girlfriend Marlene Pierro father Mike owned it. She has a sister Loretta and a little brother Michael. Marlene married and moved to Florida, don't know what happened to Loretta or Michael. Bumped into her in, of all places, Delorenzos on Hudson about 5 years ago. The Burg is still a small world!

Sax..the bar on Home and Jersey, I think was Zoltanski's. Stan Zoltanski lives right by us now in the 'burbs. My husband said there was also the Tremont Bar and Demski's on Beatty (he's the bar and pool hall expert).

Saxman said...

The Tremont bar was on Tremont and Jersey..don't remember Demski's.
On another bar...the one that Pete Radice owned on Clinton 700 block was originally Hennesey's Bar.

Queen Trinket was also at the "Dart Tavern" on Coates Street, not that I ever went there ;)
