St Joachims & Immaculate Conception

I attended Immaculate but both Church Buildings are works of
Art. I remember those little bowties we had to wear when
we made our first communion. I had a great Aunt, Sister
Marie Pauline who taught locally and in the Bronx and in
Hawthorne NJ. She would often come back to Trenton
for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Beautiful Catholic Churches :))

Hey Mack...how about Holy Cross on Adeline St? My mom and dad lived on Clinton Ave when I was born then they bought a corner candy store on Beatty and Home Ave, then moved across the street to 607 Beatty next to a butcher shop. We went to St Joaquims until the early 50's then joined Holy Cross Parish.

I went to Holy Cross at times.
I remember Father Ted. A nice
man. Everybody loved Father Ted.
I remember him driving thru a
red light by mistake at Dayton
and Broad and then seeing him
notice it and bless himself.
We did the sign of the cross to
for him too. But the Lord left
the intersection clear for him!
Let me see if I can find a pic
of that great church to post:)

Not to bring up bad memories, but does anyone remember the guy that shot the nuns at the St. Joaquims convent way back in the 50's or 60's, not sure of the year. His wife's family lived across the street from us on Mott St.

Yes, it was actually in the school building...I was standing there with some 'burg friends when the cops came over and asked us questions...of course we gave them smart-ass answers and they told us to leave before they arrested our asses!!
