Trenton was one of the smallest towns in America to have 2 daily
newspapers and it still does as 2008 heads to a close.
I had 2 Paper Routes in my day. Both with the Trentonian.
One On Morris Avenue and nearby inlcuding Creccos in
The Burg and the other one Liberty Street past Chambers heading
toward Hamilton ending on Redfern and South Olden in
Hamilton.
Local AM Radio Stations back in the day: WHWH 1350 Princeton,
WTTM 920 Trenton,WBUD 1260 Trenton.
Joe Piscipo was a DJ in Trenton in the mid 70s before his
SNL and Movie career. We Burg kids loved them AM radio
stations the most on snowy mornings when they announced
our school was closed. Remember?

Dances at Hugh Carcella Hall in Levittown were a must after getting our 'sun' glow at SeaSide. How about Trenton Catholic Dances back in the early 60's?
This was a bit before my time but
I found these items. Dont know if
they are accurate :
Ron Diamond from 1966 to 1970
9-11 PM weeknights WTTM 920 AM.
7-9 PM was Charlie Giter (The Bonnie Prince Charlie)on WTTM.

HEy Rosemary...ever go to St Peter & Pauls dances, or Nottingham Firehouse...? the band I was with back then played all those dances and Hugh Carcella, too.
How about just closing your eyes and listening to Ron doing dedications...Earth Angel, What's Your Name, We Belong Together...ah yes...my old back seat!!! ....paulie
Used to bring the old transistor radio to grade school and run the earphone up my sleeve and listen to the World Series during school when they had afternoon games.
Does anyone remember Jerry Blavett?
Hey B....."the geator with the heater"...we went on a Oldies Cruise a few years ago that Blavatt told me about when I saw him in Atlantic City..he said bring your sax and I did. Great time with him as MC and Kenny Vance and the Planotones (www.planotones.com),Frankie Ford (sea cruise), Larry Chance & the Earls (remember when)and Jersey's own...the duprees..what a blast I had playing with these rock'n'rollers...we have pics all over our wall with all of them. I keep in regulare touch with Kenny Vance and The Geator...going to see them in Philly early next year!!
Sax, how fun for you!!..Yeah, I was but a kid listening to Jerry on the radio and of course his dances!! Did you ever go to those PBS shows where they have all the great 'oldie' groups? It seems to be in AC or Pittsburg for the taping...Of course it would never make it here, though I get to see the show on my local PBS station..lol..
Sax, never made it to those. I know I lied (opps) about my age to get into some of the dances..Hey, I waa only a year too young, but looked older..lol..I loved to dance and I was pretty good too..lol..
Rosemary, Went to Trenton Catholic,
Cathedral, Hugh Carcella (remember it was .99 cents to get in an 1 cent went into the jar?), Blue Fountain, Starlight in Philly and Wildwood. We have to know each other. By the way, Blavat is at Memories in Margate, Beach Creek and the Convention Center in Wildwood, all summer. We have a place in Wildwood and enjoy stopping in and seeing the old crowd.
Jerry Blavat "The boss with the hot sauce"
Ron Diamond would play that back seat music call Parkolocy. something like that.
