A Blog about the Chambersburg area of Trenton NJ. The Burg we all loved and miss. If you were from the Burg I hope many of the pictures and lists and comments under them from good folks bring back some nice memories. Villa Park, Franklin Park, South Trenton, and nearby Hamilton also mentioned. Use the search box atop the blog to find schools, churches, streets, stores, bars etc that you remember. Over 4000 posts and 3000 pics. Enjoy:)

HI MAC.....WHAT A HISTORY THE TRENTON SCHROTHS HAVE ESTABLISHED SINCE THE EARLY 30'S. I WAS SELECTED TO PLAY IN 1936 WHEN ALL THE KIDS IN THE AREA WERE TRYING OUT AND MY BROTHER "CHUCK" PLAYED IN 1948 WHEN THERE WAS AN AMERICAN LEGION LEAGUE WITH THE WINNER REPRESENTING THE CITY IN THE TOURNAMENT. THAT YEAR THE TEAM WON THE CHAMPIONSHIP IN INDIANAPOLIS. AS A KID I FELT BEING SELECTED TO PLAY FOR THE SCHROTHS WAS SOMETHING TO PRAY FOR. I ALSO FEEL SPORTS IS A BIG FACTOR IN MY STILL BEING AROUND. P0ST 93 SHOULD BE VERY PROUD OF THEIR TEAM INCLUDING THE MANAGERS AND ALL THOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR SUCCESS. BEST REGARDS.
Hi Ralph:)
The Schroths magnificent history..plus Chambersburg Little League, plus the Trenton Giants AA team and then the current Trenton Thunder AA (Yankees) team. Baseball traditions of Trenton :))
Ralph:
Just to let you know that Post 93 is still active with the Schroths.
They don't have the selection that was in the past, to survive the post had to combine with a Post from North Trenton, to keep the team alive. The Post is now down to 98 members, in your time the post had over 1000 members. Time change.
