Inspection of all booths and lights by members of the
Feast committee. 7:30 PM
OFFICIAL OPENING TIME marked by fireworks in Columbus
Park. Followed by the Illumination of Saint Joachims
Church. 8:00 PM
Friday September 10, 1976
Prayers and benediction. Saint Joachims Church, 7:30 AM
Fireworks at Columbus Park. 6:00 PM
Buffet at Neapolitan Hall, 112 Butler Street. Limited
seating, by tickets only. $5 per person. 6:30 PM
Mandolinata and Serenata performed by The Trio
Marechiare with Carl DiDonato vocalist, Leonard Caputi
mandolin, and Matteo Giammario guitar 8:00 PM
Saturday September 11 1976
Conclusion of prayers and benediction services at Saint
Joachims Church. 7:30 AM
Fireworks at Columbus Park 6:00 PM
The Italian Folklore Society and Coro'D"Italia of New
York will present Italy's regional songs, costumes and
dances in Columbus Park 8:00 PM
Sunday, September 12, 1976
High Mass at Saint Joachims Church in honor of Our Lady
of Casindrino. The church choir will sing old world
songs. 11:00 AM
Fireworks at Columbus Park. Then the procession of the
festival will start from Saint Joachims Church and
continue through the streets of Chambersburg. The
Madonna will be borne on a float especially decorated
for the occasion. Members of the Neapolitan Society
will join the procession which will go up Butler
Street to Chestnut Avenue, turn down Bayard Street to
South Clinton Avenue, turn onto Elmer Street and then
return to Butler Street and Saint Joachims Church
where a fireworks display will greet the procession
of people. 5:00 PM
The Statue of The Madonna Di Casandrino will be
returned to Saint Joachim's Church under a crown of
lights erected by Michael Sica of New York.
Benediction will complete the religious
ceremonies. 7:30 PM
Band Concert with Gina Mule conducting in
Columbus Park. 8:00 PM
Monday September 13 1976
Fireworks at Columbus Park 6:00 PM
Rocky Girone's Fireworks will display the Madonna
Di Casandrino in Lights 9:00 PM
Neapolitan Hall Raffle Drawing 11:30 PM
