A Blog about the Chambersburg area of Trenton NJ. The Burg we all loved and miss. If you were from the Burg I hope many of the pictures and lists and comments under them from good folks bring back some nice memories. Villa Park, Franklin Park, South Trenton, and nearby Hamilton also mentioned. Use the search box atop the blog to find schools, churches, streets, stores, bars etc that you remember. Over 4000 posts and 3000 pics. Enjoy:)

THANK YOU AND YOUR READERS VERY MUCH FOR MY 93RD BIRTHDAY GREETING. I CAN RECALL MANY FOND MEMORIES INVOLVING EVENTS IN CHAMBERSBURG FROM THE TIME I WAS BORN AT 104 MOTT STREET IN 1919,A BIG ONE WAS THE STORE WE HAD AT 123 MOTT ST. MY MOTHER RAN THE STORE AND GOT TO KNOW EVERYONE IN THE BURG. WHEN I CARRIED MAIL THERE IN THE 4O'S THEY ALL MENTIOMED IN ITALIAN "YOU ARE THE CHILD OF ELIZABETH". ALL THROUGH MY YOUNGER YEARS I KEPT RUNNING INTO THE MONTERVINO TWINS, DANNY REGAN, KID EMMONS , YOUNG TERRY AND PAULIE WALKER. MY BROTHER LOU AND I WERE VERY ACTIVE IN SPORTS AND FOR YEARS COMPETED WITH GUYS FROM THE BURG. LATER, MY YOUNGER BROTHER "CHUCK" TOOK OVER AND PLAYED ON THE 1948 SCHROTHS THAT WON THE AMERICAN LEGION WORLD SERIES. HE ALSO WENT ON AND BECAME A HEART SPECIALIST. LOU AND I LEFT THE POST OFFICE IN 1955 AND BUILT THE HAMILLTON BOWLING LANES ON ROUTE 33. SO, I MUST SAY. WE WENT A LONG WAY FROM THE BURG AND TODAY, I AM THE ONLY ONE LEFT OF THE LUCARELLAS FROM THE CHAMBERSBURG ERA. THANKS AGAIN AND MAY GOD BLESS ALL THOSE THAT HELPED ON THE WAY.
I MIGHT ADD MAC, THAT VANESSA IS ALSO A HIGHLY REGARDED HEART SPECILIST IN CLEARWATER, FLA. AND RETAINED HER MAIDEN NAME IN HONOR OF HER FATHER, WHO PASSED AWAY IN 1988 AT THE AGE OF 56, MAY GOD BLESS HIM AND MAY HE REST IN PEACE.
RALPH: HAPPY BIRTHDAY WITH MANY MORE TO COME OR AS US POLISH PEOPLE SAY "STOLAT". THANK YOU FOR YOUR POSTING AND WONDERFUL INFORMATION ABOUT A NEIGHBORHOOD MY FAMILY WAS PROUD TO BE A PART OF.
