Oh! You missed my three favorites:

Hoffman Big Little Store on Princeton and Heath. You could walk in with any odd part and Old Mister Hoffmann, who looked like Doc from the Seven Dwarfs would be gone for a minute but for 75 cents you had a perfect match.

Warren-Balderson was right behind them on Princeton and sold the best. Fellow saw me buying pack after pack of Black&Decker blades while I was fixing an old MG. He felt sorry for me and steered me to a commercial blade. One pack lasted me for 5 cars and 20 years. Great strong nuts and bolts too, for auto suspensions really tough commercial stuff.

Lincoln Supply on Southard, also had the best commercial items that would outlast Channel or Home Depot junk.

Just as a side note, Old Mister Finkle was a major landlord in Trenton in the 40's and 1950's but he also had an old fashioned hardware store in Lambertville that was still open last year.

I needed a small unique screw for an old fire arm and the manufacturer wanted $15, I took it to the son who still runs the business and in those massive bins of parts, it was .30 cents.

Not much around like that anymore!

HI MAC...YOU AND I KNOW HOW WELL ASHBRANDS HARDWARE SERVED THE NEIGHBOORHOOD. THEY WERE HELPFUL ALLSO TO ME AS A MEETING PLACE FOR MY GIRL FRIEND AND I,IN THE 1930'S.

Osowitz Hardware, right down the street from the old office. I miss the old neighborhood, Marazzos, the good times you, dad, Dave and I had at dads office and the many characters that roamed S Broad St.
