IIRC, all the top hits became really big when WAAT, 1300AM, came on the scene, then WABC and finally, my fave, WIBG from Philly.
Humble Harv, Hi Lit, and more. All us Burg kids were buying 45s.

Yup, we bought the 45s and our parents bought the 78s...how sweet it was! Hi Lit radio and "the Geator with the heator" the "Boss with the hot sauce" Jerry Blavat. Rock On!

I remember Alice Cooper "Schools Out" in 1972 as I qualified as its target audience LOL..I had to go 3 times to get it because it was sold out. I remember putting my fingers in the record bin and there being no record there..darn ! LOL old Trenton days:)
