Washington School, The Burg
Built in the 1940s thus much newer than my elementary
school Franklin. But both nice looking buildings in
their own way. God Bless The Old Burg:)

HI MAC....MY SISTER ROSE WENT TO THE OLD WASHINGTON SCHOOL AND I RECALL HER TAKING ME THERE IN THE EARLY 1920'S. THERE WERE MANY SCHOOLS LOCATED IN OR NEAR THE BURG AND THE REASON WAS PROBABLY CAUSE THERE WERE NO SCHOOL BUSSES AND MOST KIDS HAD TO WALK TO SCHOOL. BEST REGARDS.

Amen Ralph, I never took a bus to school :)
There was no cafeteria there in the 50s and 60s when I went there. We walked hone for lunch then walked back to school for the afternoon.
