Trenton Freeway

Trenton Freeway

Using the Trenton Freeway coming from the Burg for us meant
going down South Clinton Avenue past the Roebling Factory
and onto the Greenwood Circle to the Barlow Street Circle
and getting on the ramp there. We used it most often to
go to Quakerbridge Mall or North Olden Avenue to go to
my Aunts House in Ewing or to Korvettes at Capitol Plaza:)

HI MAC....I CAN RECALL WHEN THE TRENTON FREEWAY WAS JUST A CANAL RUNNING THROUGH THE CITY AND IN SOME PARTS THE KIDS FROM THE BURG WOULD GO SWIMMING. WORKING AT THE POST OFFICE ALONGSIDE THE CANAL I REMEMBER THE HUGE AMOUNT OF WORK INVOLVED IN TURNING THAT CANAL INTO A FREEWAY. IT WAS A BIG PROJECT AND THE BEGINNING OF MANY CHANGES IN TRENTON'S TRAFFIC SITUATION. BEST REGARDS.

Hi Ralph:)
I think they did the freeway and route 29 in the 1950s. I can sorta imagine Trenton without the freeway but its hard for me to imagine it without route 29:)
