HI MAC....LET ME SAY THIS ABOUT THE SISTERS AT ST. JOOACHIM'S, YOU CAN'T FOOL AROUND WHEN YOU'RE LEARNING FOR YOUR COMMUNION. I FOUND THAT OUT IN THE 20'S WHEN I WAS THERE WITH THE REST OF THE KIDS FROM THE BURG. REGARDS.

Hi Ralph:))
And from stories from friends who went to St Joachims in the 70s and 80s you still couldnt mess with them Sisters. A fine school that mattered so much to so many in days long ago:)

Hey Mack, great pic of the nuns. I had sister Alma when attending Catechism School. She was a vey warm and compassionate nun which made learning very easy and enjoyable.
Best regards

OH boy this brings back nightmares....the beatings with rulers, face slapping, pinched ears and the hard punches to the side and back of the head. The nuns beat the he** out of us and for most of us... for no good reason and I was one of the quite kids. Yeah in the early 60's it was bad. I have to go take some zanax now to relax..I get chills every time I see pictures of St Joachim's school. "I survived Roman Catholic School" but I have the mental scars to prove it.

Mack, Thank You Oh So Much. I was at St Joachims from '55 to '61 and had many of the Nuns as teachers seen in the photo.

I'll never forget Sister Matilda. She was a jewel of a teacher. May she Rest in Peace.
