Saint Francis Hospital 1917

Saint Francis Hospital 1917 from a postcard of that era.
I was born here as were 4 of 5 of my brothers and sisters.
My Mom and sister worked here at one time:)

HI MAC...THE ONLY ONE OF THE LUCARELLAS BORN AT ST. FRANCIS WAS MY BROTHER "CHUCK". IT SEEMS STRANGE THAT HE WOULD RETURN LATTER IN HIS LIFE TO BE AMONG THE PROMINATE DOCTORS THERE. MOST OF THE KIDS IN CHAMBERSBURG IN THE EARLY YEARS WERE BORN AT HOME BY MID WIVES. BEST REGARDS.

My uncle Joe, Dr Joseph Kondor was head surgeon there for many years, back in the days when nuns ran the place like a well oiled clock. To a little kid like me in the 50's, it was scarey, reverent and amazingly clean.
