A Blog about the Chambersburg area of Trenton NJ. The Burg we all loved and miss. If you were from the Burg I hope many of the pictures and lists and comments under them from good folks bring back some nice memories. Villa Park, Franklin Park, South Trenton, and nearby Hamilton also mentioned. Use the search box atop the blog to find schools, churches, streets, stores, bars etc that you remember. Over 4000 posts and 3000 pics. Enjoy:)

HI MAC...THE OLDEN THEATRE BUILDING IS WHERE MY BROTHER LOU AND I RAN THE SIX BOWLING LANES ON THE SECOND FLOOR IN 1952, 53 AND 54. WE WERE LETTER CARRIERS DURING THE DAY AND RAN THE LANES AT NIGHT. WITH THE HELP OF MANY FINE PEOPLE, WE BUILT THE HAMILTO BOWLING LANES ON ROUTE 33 IN 1955. WE WERE IN THE BOWLING LANES BUSINESS THERE UNTIL 1970. THE THEATRE. MARRUCA'S TOMATO PIES AND THE LANES DID VERY WELL. IT WAS A VERY BUSY PERIOD OF OUR LIVES AND THANK GOD FOR THE HELP OF MEL BLATT AND AL ENOURATO. REGARDS
Mack: You'd go to a movie at the Olden, grab a pie at Marruca's or Louis' before you got to the top of first Olden Ave. bridge.
Hi Ralph & Joe :)
