Capguns

Capguns

These were fun toys when I was growing up in the Burg.
It was even fun to bang the cap rolls with rocks to
set them off or to try and use a Cracker Jacks
magnifier to make them go off:)

My grandkids were over on the 4th of July and I had 2 old cap guns, my sons and grandkids had a ball shooting them once again. We used a bat to set off a roll. Some things one does not forget.

A regular old hammer and the whole roll would go ka-blooie.

Don't ask about what a half pound of powder goes off like. No blast but what a flash and "smokeless" means it smokes less.

This was behind the Farmers Market Joe. Post WWII was a wonderful time for odd things. BTW JoeZ, that cross in the courtyard of Saint Hedwig's is confirmed as where a kid set off a round in school and perished out there. Erected in his memory in the late 40's.
