The Burg (From Facebook)

Len Tuccillo /Yes I was there at least 1 or 2 times a week.
Bob Geer/ My first Italian Hot Dog was a Casino Dog 30
years ago.
Georgiana Battista /They Were The Best No One Makes Them
Like They Did. I Really Miss That Place.
Barbara Peroni-Anama /they had the best hot dogs ever..
you had to go to the one on anderson st.
Lynn Gallello Maccaroni/ i miss all the customers,
especially my regulars.
Ken Candelori /Too many memories. I can't think of just
one that stands out. They all stand out! I miss Casino,
and miss Mary.
Tina Meagher-Hawkins/ I served and ate so many italian
hot dogs during my five years working at the Casino!!!
I so miss the homemade potatoes!!!
Dave Sheppard /Frank alot of great memories i started
when they were 45 cents LOL i really miss those days!!
Donald Longo /I saw Ronnie Angerone eat 8 dogs with
the works He drank 8 sodas also at one sitting.
Awesome!!!
Frank Pinto /I started at the Casion Resturaunt on
the Dog grill in 1971 went full time in 1973, and
had a great time working for Big Gino, and Big Al
Sbarro, Tango Mike and a cast of other characters
until I left in January of 1979 to work for the
Postal Service.....however, I could not stay away,
and Big Al Sbarro hired me to work lunch hours when
he opened Tony Goes on South Olden Avenue, and then
I moved over to the new store in Hamilton, and then
back to the Olden Ave store, before moving onto
Mobil Oil, and then onto TX!! I had a great time
working for Gino, Mary and Big Al.....made many
good friends, and have great memories, those were
the days......all great people......and I can
probably say that I am in the top at least 7 in
number of dogs made!!!! I beleive that they were 25
cents when I began..
Elizabeth A Hatala Young /Over the yrs I've told
SO MANY people about Casino Dogs, My fond memories
of Casino include being able to walk there in the
late 70's with 3 little children and get breakfast
or Casino dogs for lunch. Didn't have a car every
day back then...so our being able to escape on foot
to such a warm, friendly, safe place, was a godsend.
Happy memories include the loving family waitstaff;
I miss all of them.
Gino Maccaroni /I had Nora Jones there - great fun!
Those were great times - she was only 19 back then
and didn't have a signed contract - I am a big fan
of her dad's and knew she would be cool - she was
such a lovely spirited person
Michelle Sbarro/ Nora Jones DID play at the Casino.
.That was when Gino (the son) had it open at night
and the neighbors upstairs would complain that the
music was too loud.
Brenda Crozier Driver/ i am joining this group in
memory of my mother Loretta Cacallori-Crozier....
she was born on Anderson St and I grew up there..
a week did not go by without a Tony Goes Hot Dog.
...I would ride my bike down there to pick up a
1/2 dozen for our family.....hmm hmm good ...They
were her favorite and ours too! The Best!
Celeste Giancola/ What Great Memories at the
Casino!!!!! I remember stopping there on the way
home from work and bringing Hot Dogs with the
"Works" home for dinner. And sometimes on a
Saturday afternoon my mom would say, do you feel
like a Casino Hot Dog?? And we would call and
order and I go pick them up. We would always
split an order of fries. I also have fond
memories of me going there with my Mom and Aunt
(the twins). Everybody knew each other and was
always happy to see each other. They were the
Good Old Days.............
Anne Scaccetti Conte/ My first job - and still
the most fun job I ever had. We had the best
crew 1977-1980! Ray & Bobby would always make
extra fries & onion rings and keep them in the
back. Dave always playing the Beatles on the
jukebox. So many memories.
Dave Sheppard/ i was just thinking of some of
the people that came in the casino all those
years ago-----(k gino jr can start singing this
song LOL) but to be honest i loved the casino
with all my heart and when i heard it was closing
a piece of me left that day i now think of areas
in that building and the memories and the people
i'...ve met those 25+ years for me there --- i
could sure go for some soup and a casino italian
cheese dog i bet Lynda knew what i was gonna order
each time i came in --- in fact alot of people told
me when Gino and i cooked for them they knew that we
knew what they were getting before the 'slips' came
in LOL but i have alot of great memories and i know
we may have lost our tempers from time to time it
never failed that after it was over we walked up to
each other and said "it was just business and not
personal and we made up --- i could type for hours
about the casino and i know Gino could write a book
about our times well i love you all and am with you
in spirit keep in touch.
Lynn Gallello Maccaroni /this is lynda, it's nice to
know everone still thinks of the restaurant and
misses it. i like to have everyone share some
stories in honor of my mom and dad[gino and mary].
they gave their live to the casino and everyone who
came there. have a great night.
Gino Maccaroni /This is Gino maccaroni - I made over
5 million casino Hot Dogs in my day - cut one
million potato's / 84,698 bushels of peppers -
and I still dream about them!
Tom Pass adds..Let's not forget mandatory Fish
and Chips on Fridays.

My God, All this is the way it was.
I was there at least 3-4 x a week with a whole crew. Usually Black/Red Band members plus all those absolutly beautiful girls of both teams.
During nice weather, deciding to go or not to go to class was always on our minds. Alas, the decision was not that tough since most of us had "get out of class" chits which, as a band leader,I was able to write.
Again, those were the days!

I worked at The Casino cooking hot dogs part time during my last two years of high school(69-70). Joe (Pug) Radice and Albert made me laugh so hard Gino would throw a wet rag at me to get me back to work.Joe and I would fight Gino and Albert for Jukebox time. Beatles vs Frank. I can still see Albert lip sync Mario Lanza. Hilarious!! I don't know how many thousands of dogs I made there but I have never been able to duplicate the taste outside the shop and believe me, I've tried. It is very difficult for me to accept that Tony Goes is no more.
