Cesare's Meats/ A Post From Paul Donini

Cesare's Meats/A Post FromPaul Donini

Mack,
Cesare's Inc. was my family's business. It was in existence
for 70 year before the business closed in the early 1980's.
Cesare's had accounts in Trenton, Princeton, Seaside,
Lakewood, and other areas too numerous to mention.
Some of the accounts serviced included Princeton University
and the eating clubs of Princeton, Nassau Inn, Lahaires'
Restaurant, Rider College, Trenton State College, Mercer
Hospital, Union Camp, Trenton Country Club and out of town
accounts such as Paul Kimball Hospital Top of the Mast
Restaurant, and dozens of other accounts which now slip my
mind. Cesare's started as a typical Italian Grocery Store
circa 1920 by my great great great uncle Cesare and was
located on So.Clinton Avenue near Butler Street. The
business was relocated to the corner of Hamilton and
Clinton Avenues where it remained until it closed.
The brothers Jim,Don and Emilio Donini operated the
business during its heyday. The building and equipment
were sold upon closing and the new owner operated out
of that location until a fire destroyed it years later.
All that remains now is a portion of the fence that
enclosed the parking area.

Thank You so much for this Paul.

Anybody remember Menutti's on Anderson? Made the best sauzzage (in the Berg it was pronounced sauzzage, not sauSAGE)in the Berg, filled with seeds. I think it's a private house now.
