Garages at Brown Street and Dayton Street. It takes
all kinds of things to make up a Burg Streetscape.
I have seen these in about 5 other places round the
old neighborhood. They were a place I passed by
countless times.
A Blog about the Chambersburg area of Trenton NJ. The Burg we all loved and miss. If you were from the Burg I hope many of the pictures and lists and comments under them from good folks bring back some nice memories. Villa Park, Franklin Park, South Trenton, and nearby Hamilton also mentioned. Use the search box atop the blog to find schools, churches, streets, stores, bars etc that you remember. Over 4000 posts and 3000 pics. Enjoy:)

When I lived nearby on Franklin St in the 50s, some of these were used as stables for businesses still using horses, like the rag man. A bunch of us used to stage races around them and thru the dirt lot in the rear with our boy powered and rope steered buggies. You should have seen the dust cloud! I believe they were owned by Asbrand Hardware on Liberty Street at the time. The row of garages on Dayton Street nearby also housed some horses at the time.
