508 Hamilton Avenue, The Burg

508 Hamilton Avenue, The Burg
Once upon a time this was Eddie's Delux Donut & Coffee Shop.
(AKA Eddie's Donuts) in my Burg day. Owner: Eddie Baldassari.
My fellow Trenton High Alumni especially knew this place well
as the school was nearby:)

HI MAC....EDDIE AND HIS BROTHER JOHN BALDASSARI WERE VERY ACTIVE IN THE FOOD BUSINESS IN THE BURG. JOHN, AS A CHEF AT ROMAN HALL AND AT THEW ITALIAN AMERICAN SPORTSMAN CLUB WHILE EDDIE ALSO OWNED THE BALLROOM. THEY WERE AMONG THE WELL KNOWN PEOPLE IN CHAMBERSBURG FOR A LONG WHILE. BEST REGARDS.

With Eddie's gone and the place on Arena Drive closed you really are hard pressed to get a real honest dounut. IMHO, Dunkin are all factory made and have gone down hill with one exception; Washington NJ up in Warren County still makes them by hand, not off a truck.

Sad state of affairs and I don't know how Joe Z fares in FL but that gets my Gander or Dander up for certain.

This country was made great on an honest doughnut or donut! Give me a Vanilla Cream or Give Me Death and Patrick Henry would agree.

One Nation Under God and take note that GOD has a hole in the middle just like an old fashioned donut!

Skip . longing for a tasty treat :(

Eddie's was the "go to" place after school for my THS days. '66 to '69.

Hi Ralph, Skip & Noel:)

The Badassari Regency is still in the Burg so their legacy rolls on for now;)

The Eet Gud bakery on Hamilton Avenue in Mercerville makes some pretty good donuts.

Mack, thanks. I guess they were shut down a few years back for renovations? I had given up on them.

The Eet Gud has the second best cream donuts in the state. The best is a very obscure place in Willingboro and that is too far a drive.

Happy camper now and it's a bit of a drive but thanks. If you can tell I love those tasty friends.
