This photo of Lucky Lucy DiNatale is not of a race car in
the traditional sense. This was one of the cars in her
Auto Daredevil Thrill Show. I saw her show at the
Trenton Fairgrounds. It was similar to the Joie Chitwood
Hell Driver shows. They performed stunts on the front
straightaway of the track. It was precision driving in
the truest sense. They did the steeple chase, where four
cars, two by two, and within inches of each other jumped
two ramps, crisscrossed, and jumped two additional ramps,
while keeping in perfect formation. The cars are 1951-52
Kaiser Henry Js. I believe they performed the t-bone
crash, jumping a ramp and broadsiding a parked car,
flipping both cars into a T. They may also have
performed a ramp to ramp jump: one car over and one car
under. Very exciting stuff. I was 14 at the time, and
really wanted to be a part of it. The Jack Kochman Hell
Drivers also played Trenton every year, using new Dodges.
Captain Dynamite blew himself up in the infield during
these thrill shows. The Trenton State Fair was a treat.
