The South Clinton Avenue Bridge

The South Clinton Avenue Bridge

The South Clinton Avenue Bridge right near the Trenton Train
Station. My Grandfather Urban Zorichak worked on this bridge
when its surface used to be wooden slats. He worked for the
Pennsylvania Railroad so obviously they owned it back then.
They finally got around to paving it with macadam later on
and so it doesnt get fixed nearly as much as it used to
need to beb back in the day:)

This and the Olden Bridge bring back a lot of memories. Dad would often stop on the bridges and have us spot trains. The game was to see the headlight in the distance and then if it was blowing black or white smoke.

The new diesels blew black but much less than the coal trains. With some of the steamers you could see the plume for miles.

Hi Skip. I remember that bridge too. It had the black steel guard rails..and then they replaced the whole thing. That was one of the ways to my Aunt's house in Ewing and Korvettes:)
