The Reservoir, 1975

The Reservoir, 1975
The Trenton Water Filtration Plant broke down in the late
summer days of 1975 and this is how the Reservoir looked.
Remember the National Guard trucks bringing around water
to the neighborhoods? Mayor Holland and the Trenton City
folks got the plant up and running again after a few days
and the Great Trenton Water Crisis of 1975 was over:)

That was a place for the neighborhood kids to plan a day hike to in the 1950's and I remember a row boat being tied up.

There were also that occasional report that "a body" was found floating in there having been dumped after ... round up the usual suspects Louie?

Mowing the lawn. I remember watching the fellow mow that grass once and I think they had a man with a rope at the top so the thing didn't tip and tumble down.

Another amazing thing and for a ten year old there are a lot of things for certain, but watching them clean it out once when they dropped that water level. I remember bikes and shopping carts. Now who in their right mind would go through all that work to haul a heavy old cart up only to toss it in?
