HI MAC...I DON'T RECALL THE FEAST OF LIGHTS EVER BEING ON SWAN ST. IT ALWAYS WAS ON BUTLER DURING MY TIME IN THE BURG AND SCARDONE WOULD SHOT OFF FIREWORKS DOWN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET THAT SCARED THE DAYLIGHTS OUT OF EVERYONE. THEY LATTER STOPPED THEM BECAUSE OF THE HOSPITAL BEING SO CLOSE. THE FEAST VWAS SOMETHING WE ALL LOOKED FORWARD TO. REGARDS.

Ralph, do you know if they had a Feast of Lights in every Italian neighborhood?

I remember going to an event held yearly at Saint James. For a family without a car Chambersburg was an eternity away most days but I remember them shutting down part of Paul and Phillips Avenues.

THEY DID HAVE A FEAST ON PAUL AVENUE IN NORTH TRENTON WHILE WE HAD OUR FEAST ON BUTLER ST. I DON'T RECALL IF THEY STILL HAVE IT.THE SAINT JAMES FEAST WAS NOT IN HONOR OF OUR MADONNA.

Thank you Ralph. I couldn't wait for that towards early fall each year.

I was from the Polish section a few blocks over and that was something we all waited for.

The lady's of the Saint James made these little deep fried pizzas that if I ate one I ate a half a dozen.

That was a wonderful neighborhood.
