1054 Greenwood Avenue, East Trenton

1054 Greenwood Avenue, East Trenton
Some Burg folks might have went here from time to time.
Once upon a time this was The Greenwood Theatre:)

UPDATE
Ralph Lucarella adds...
Hi Mack: It's Ralph again. My brother delivered mail to
the Greenwood. Next door was an ice cream parlor run by
his friend. I forgot his name but he later played bass
fiddle for Louis Prima,s band. We ran into him in Las
Vegas and had a ball. Do you remember Prima and all
the other big bands that played the carnivals in
Broad Street Park.

My Dad Ed MacNicoll adds...
I also spent many Saturdays with my brothers and
sisters in the Greenwood theater. Again this was during
the war years. There are new homes on the site. The
Greenwood lasted longer than the Olden theater. I have
great memories of the Greenwood.

Bob Reck adds...
Used to go the Greenwood, then around the corner to
Marcuca's Pizza. Great pies!

And right around the corner, if Marucca had a line there was Louie's Pie. The Olden Theater and perhaps Rhoads for a soda or ice cream at the fountain?

Does anyone remember Floyd's Diner on Olden?

Mack: Louis' pies were very good, nice place after a movie or date, it was on Olden Ave. right before the first bridge heading to Brunswick Ave. on the right hand side. Thanks Skip.

HI MAC...THE GUY'S NAME WHO HAD THE ICE CREAM PARLOR NEXT TO THE GREENWOOD WAS ROLAND. HE WAS FEATURED ON ONE OF PRIMA'S BIG HIT RECORDINGS. MANY BIG TIME BANDS PLAYED THE LOCAL CARNIVALS IN THE 1930'S. SOME WERE BUNNY BERIUGAN, CHARLIE BARNET, GEORGE HALL AND TED LEWIS. BEST REGARDS.
