HI MAC....THERE IS NO QUESTION ABOUT THE NATIONALITY OF THOSE NAMES AT CENTENNIAL SCHOOL IN 1930. THE SCHOOL WAS IN THE HEART OF CHAMBERSBURG AND I KNEW MOST OF THOSE KIDS. I WAS GOING TO HAMILTON AT THAT TIME WHICH HAD A MIXURE OF KIDS FROM THE BURG AND VILLA PARK. 1930 HAD QUITE A FEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS WITHIN A SHORT DISTANCE. BEST REGARDS.
I MIGHT ADD, HERE ARE A LIST OF SCHOOLS I CAN RECALL IN 1930, ALL AROUND THE BURG. WASHINGTON, HEWITT, CENTENNIAL, CARROL ROBINS, MOSES, FRANKLIN, CENTRE, HAMILTON AND THE CATHOLIC SCHOOLS. ALL ELEMENTARY AND GOING TO ONE HIGH SCHOOL IN THE CITY.
Hi Ralph:)
And 60 years later most of the kids in St Joachims School were still Italian until it closed:)
