15 Anderson Street, The Burg

Great to see comments of my grandfather's Restaurant.
The picture shown is one of many of frank and of
course if you remember they had many of the Yankee
players displayed also. Do you remember the dogs
where originally cooked right before your eyes at
the counter before Ernie remolded the restaurant?
As I remember they where only $.25 then. We had a
great soda fountain also, lime rickies were pretty
big then as well as chocolate cokes. I must ad we
had a pretty decent jukebox that the the TCHS kids
loved. The Casino was originally around the corner
on Charles Street and one year later my grandfather
bought 15 Anderson Street in 1939.
Love you site, Vince Sbarro

Thanks for this Vince. You and your family are Burg
Royalty. God Bless The Old Burg:)

THIS IS ANOTHER OF YOUR MANY PLACES THAT BRING BACK FOND MEMORIES. I WAS GOING TO HAMILTON SCHOOL WHEN THE CASINO WAS GETTING STARTED WHICH WAS NEXT DOOR ON THE CORNER OF ANDERSON AND HAMILTON. WE HUNG AROUND THAT AREA A LOT PLAYING MARBLES AND GOING TO THE PARK THEATRE WHICH WAS ACROSS THE STREET. I KNEW ERNIE SBARRO AND LATTER ON GINO MACARONI WHO TOOK OVER THE RESTAURANT. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES.

Hi Ralph:)
For those who are reading Ralphs comment and do not know:
Hamilton School was an Elementary School located at the corner of
Hamilton Avenue and Anderson Street
(Where Roma Bank is now).

Hi Vince,
As leader of the Black Band I was able to give out (get out of class) chits for rehearsal. Well, we used these to hang at the Casino for lunch before we headed down the shore. Of course all my years at TCHS I was at the Casino most days.

Hey Mack, I believe I sent you a pic of Tony Goes standing next to his Cadillac in front of the Hamilton School. Ralph would have enjoyed seeing it. If not, please let me know and I'll resend it.
Hey Bob, I always forget to ask you, do you ever pick up your old sax? Also, Was your theme ("62") song, string of pearls? I'm not quite sure of the song but do remember you always had problems with the tempo. Just kidding Bob!

Hi Vince:)
I do not have that picture of Tony Goes outside of Hamilton School.
Thats Ralph Lucarella's ole school and I have never found a picture of it. It would be one of those great 2 in 1 pics. Legendary Burg
Personality & Building. Please
fire it over to me, thank you so much:)
