Fall Comes To Jim And Mary's Deli, Woodland Street and Remsen Avenue, Franklin Park

Fall Comes To Jim And Mary's Deli, Woodland Street and Remsen
Avenue, Franklin Park.
This was across from Franklin Park and was a handy place to
grab a soda and chips or candy in the days we displayed our
outstanding athletic skills in the park. This is not a deli
now, nor is what was once the Villa Park Deli on Revere
Avenue. However both neighborhood Deli's that I went to as
a kid Liberty Deli and Garrets/J&M's Deli still are delis
today. Its hit or miss on which ones are still around but
many still are:)

Hi Angela:)
Sometimes its good to be lucky.
I was very pleased at how this picture came out and was hoping you would see it. The only things missing are kids bikes and a Kerns Soda LOL:)

I was in this store every day in the 1970's. I remember the Sunbeam Bread girl on the front window. Jim and mary were always the nicest people. I remember helping Jim move some things once in a while because he couldn't always do it(because of his arm). One of the great Mom & Pop stores!!!
