Doctor James Fessler




James Fessler Jr., MD was born in Trenton in 1927, he was a
lifelong area resident. A 1944 graduate of Trenton High
School, Penn State University, Hahnemann Medical School,
Dr. Fessler completed his internship at Wm. McKinley
Hospital (now Capital Health Regional Medical Center)
and he studied a year at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Fessler entered practice with his father over 50
years ago. He practiced medicine his entire career in
the same office on 1544 South Broad Street in Trenton.
Dr. Fessler was associated with McKinley Hospital and
Helene Fuld Hospital, most recently called Capital
Health Regional Medical Center. He had been the Staff
Medical Director, Chairman of the Department of Surgery,
and held many other chairmanships. He was a fellow of
the International College of Surgeons and has been a
member of the American Medical Society for 57 years.
Jim was a veteran of World War II and was honorably
discharged from the U.S. Navy. He belonged to the
Trenton Club and Trenton Country Club where he was
an avid golfer, tennis player, and also enjoyed
paddle tennis. Jim also enjoyed traveling with his
wife and family around the country.

Jodi Fessler, Dr. James Daughter, was my lab teacher
in my Mercer County Community College days:)

Dr. Fessler was my doctor until I moved away from the area 8 years ago. I always liked him.
