Did you have Tupperwear in the 70s??? Did you think your cousins yard
in the Burbs was the size of a park compared to a city yard? Did your
parents give you an "allowence" ? Do you remember "The Book Mobile"
being parked in your schoolyard? Do you remember talent contests in
your local city park (I remember them in Franklin Park)?

Most of my relatives that lived in "a township" was really just across the line and other than the color of the street sign, a duplex was pretty much the same size. One aunt lived in a brick single that seemed like a palace but was a pretty small house with a large yard. The luxury was not sharing a wall with someone I guess. Oh, then there was my one uncle who lived by Woodstock on that mountain. He had over twenty acres. True paradise to a city kid and I loved our annual visit. The water was horrible with sulfur and the taste and smell were enough to make you like even drinking milk.

My sister did Tupperware and Revereware so we had tons of phony "antique colonial" copper ash trays and candy dishes. No candy was allowed in them but they said they were for candy?

The North Ward was not as organized as Chambersburg.

We never had a park in our neighborhood. The one park that would come later, in the 1970's, was the Father Rocco Park in Ewing. It was named after the Pastor of Saint James Church. St. James was our "Little Burg" right across the line in Trenton.
