A Blog about the Chambersburg area of Trenton NJ. The Burg we all loved and miss. If you were from the Burg I hope many of the pictures and lists and comments under them from good folks bring back some nice memories. Villa Park, Franklin Park, South Trenton, and nearby Hamilton also mentioned. Use the search box atop the blog to find schools, churches, streets, stores, bars etc that you remember. Over 4000 posts and 3000 pics. Enjoy:)

The wrought iron fence on the left is for the Skelton Branch of the library. The red brick building on hte right is Advent Lutheran Church.
When we were in Kindergarten or 1st grade, I believe we were allowed to go to the library unattended. We went to the classes where a librarian read stories to us in a back room, upstairs and to the right of the book check-in area.
So back to the fence, out front. There were some spots on the fence where the spaces were bent just a little, and we could squeeze right through and run around in the back yard of the library.
A kid had to play and explore. Things were different back then.
Hi SJ:)
When I was in Franklin School, there were nice sunny afternoons when we would just walk to Franklin Park as a class to go play kickball on the big middle field. I imagine in todays lawsuit happy country that they cannot do that now.
