Fall Comes To That Little Park On Washington Street, The Burg
Fall Comes To That Little Park On Washington Street, The Burg
I always thought this was nice looking little park.
I do know if it was privately owned. I fo not remember
ever seeing any children playing in this park in all
of my Burg days. Anyone have answers to this mystery?
I think the cross street was Emory or Morris Avenue.

I believe it actually belonged to the little church
that used to be there.

Oh yes, "The Church Yard" !! It was right around the
corner from my house !! The Ashmore gang used to ride
our bikes in there, cause it was like a small
rectangular track !! But then there was some member
who lived across the street who always yelled at us
to get out, and would threaten to call the cops !!
Old Geiser he was !!

It was a senior center that was like connected with
The Sam Naples center, my grandmother used to go there
and play bingo with all her ''lady'' friends...lol...
and then they used to run A.C. trips out of there.....

HI MAC... I ONLY REMEMBER IT AS TENTH WARD PARK AND NOT USED BY MANY KIDS CAUSE ALL I RECALL WERE PARK BENCHES. I BELIEVE THE GROUND EVIDENTLY WAS OWNED BY THE AGABITI'S AND I THINK IT IS NOW CALLED AGABITI PARK. REGARDS.
Hi Ralph:)
This is a different Park. Tenth Ward Park was where Washington School is now, this is on Washington Street like 4 blocks from there. Agabiti Park is where
the old Washinton School was on
Roebling and Emory. This is different from both of them.
Too sad. A shooting down the street from Agabiti Park. One old fellow of 91 afraid to go out.
Skip .. :(
