Fall Comes To Franklin Park, Franklin Park

Fall Comes To Franklin Park, Franklin Park
Franklin Park and Wetzel Field were the places
foe most of my baseball and football and hanging
around back in the day. The bench in the distance
here was the one we sat on most of all. We played
sports in the Remsem Avenue/Franklin Street corner
of the park unless we had many folks around that
day, in which case we would play on the central
bigger field:)

HI MAC....LONG BEFORE YOUR TIME I DID THE SAME THINGS. FRANKLIN PARK, WETZEL FIELD AND WOULD YOU BELIEVE THAT ONE DAY MY GIRL FRIEND AND I WALKED ALL THE WAY TO CADWALDER PARK. WE HAD NO MONEY OR CAR BUT JUST BEING TOGHETHER IN THE PARKS AND AROUND THE NEIGHBORHOOD WAS OUR DESIRE. I DID'NT DO MUCH ELSE BUT PLAY BASEBALL IN MY YOUTH BUT ALONG CAME LOVE AND BASEBALL DID'NT MATTER MUCH ANYMORE. THANKS FOR ALL THE MEMORIES. REGARDS.

Just holding hands and listening to the rustle of the leaves with that warm fall sunshine.

Never a moment finer.

Thanks Ralph, you know I said this to a friend who was a few generations distant and for a moment he looked at me like I got out of a lunar moon unit. Sure he had lots and lots of girl friends but the simple joy like that had escaped him.

Hi Ralph & Skip:)
The Burg area was and still is good for parks:)

Thanks for this great shot of home. I guess I never realized what a wonderful view we had living right across from the park until I moved away. Isn't that always the way though?

Hi Angela:)
When I take picture walks around the Burg area I sometimes feel everybody should have stayed:)
