A Beautiful Sunny Day on Liberty Street, The Burg

A Beautiful Sunny Day on Liberty Street, The Burg.
Our home in the Burg was on the second block of
this picture on the other side of the street thus
not in this picture. When I see a picture like
this I automatically think I am home soon as
if approaching in a car or on foot:)

HI MAC....PHOTOS OF LIBERTY STREET TAKE ME BACK TO THE DAYS I WALKED FROM OUR HOUSE ON FRANKLIN ST. TO MY GIRL FRIIENDS HOUSE ON HOWELL. ASHBRAND'S HARDWARE WAS ONE OF THE BUSY STORES ON THE BLOCK AND TONY DeFRANK, WHO LIVED NEXT DOOR TO HER WAS BUSY REPAIRING APPLIANCES. THAT WAS IN THE LATE 1930'S AND THE DeFRANKS HAVE COME A LONG WAY SINCE THEN. BEST REGARDS.

Hi Ralph:)
Thank you for your Burg area observations and reflections as
always. It is very pleasing when
the readers understand what one is trying to do. The reason I post so many street scenes is because I remember walking on these streets and hope that others remember as well. Many look as they did long ago even if the old Burg is gone.
I think the DeFranks have a store
where the Old Heidelberg Restaurant
once was in Mercerville. The wife
of the Ashbrand Hardware store owner was a nurse at St Francis I think:)

YOU'RE DOING A TERRIFIC JOB MAC. WE'VE BOTH LIVED AROUNG THE BURG AND MERCERVILLE. WHEN I VISIT I DO JUST WHAT YOU SAID, I WALK AND REFLECT AROUND THE SECTIONS I SPENT MOST OF MY YOUNGER YEARS AND EVERTTHING SEEEMS THE SAME. YOU AND TOM GLOVER ARE BRINGING BACK MEMORIES TO SO MANY AND I'M SURE WE ALL APPRECIATE IT VERY MUCH. THANKS A LOT AND GOD BLESS THE BURG. BEST REGARDS.
