The 50th Anniversary, Edwin & Julianne MacNicoll, Dad & Mom

The 50th Anniversary, Edwin & Julianne MacNicoll, Dad & Mom
Happy Anniversary Dad and Mom:)
There once was a house in the Burg with a Dad and Mom, 6
kids (3 Girls 3 Boys), sometimes a Grandma, all kinds of
pets (Dogs, Cats, Rabbits, Ferrets, Fish, Hamsters, Newts,
...not all at once of course). A Yard with Roses and
Tomatos and Peppers and Taragon and a Sunflower I
accidently mowed (sorry Mom). A Swingset, many pools,
a clothes line. Christmas Cards on the bannister in the
holiday season (and Twinkle lights blinking in the window).
The smell of Turkey cooking in the oven on Thanksgiving as
we watched the football game. The front and back doors
open on spring and summer mornings. Bagels and the
New York Times and On The Road with Charles Kuralt on the
TV on sunday mornings. That mirror everyone combed their
hair in as they went off to work or school. The Phone
in the kitchen with a million little papers with numbers
we might call (especially Zips and Peps). The Calender
on the wall next to the phone, often Episcopos Drug
Store free calender. Sunday afternoon drives up the
River. Vacations in the Poconos or down the shore at
Metedeconk or Seaside Heights. Moving our cars off
Liberty Street onto Brown Street when it snowed.
Our little corner of the world was a nice place.

Yes, 59 years it was and you remember all it as it was. Yout mother and I have had a wonderful life together and you kids and our grandchildren are and were what it all was about. What you wrote here today proves that. We both are proud of you.

You are all blessed with each other. I could feel the warmth of the kitchen on one of those Thanksgivings; a busy place?

Happy 50'th.

HI MAC....A BIG ANNIVERSARY FOR YOUR PARENTS AND A FINE TRIBUTE BY YOU. MY WIFE AND I HAD ALMOST 60 YEARS TOGETHER BEFORE SHE PASSED AWAY IN 1998. YOU DON'T HAVE LONG MARRIAGES TODAY AND THAT IS ONE MORE REASON FOR THE MANY PROBLEMS IN THIS GENERATION. I WISH YOUR PARENTS MANY MORE. BEST REGARDS.

Your descriptions brought back lots of happy memories of growing up in the Franklin Park area.
