Trenton Catholic High School, The Burg 1957

Trenton Catholic High School, The Burg 1957
I found these pictures and hope you like them:)
This is before my time. In my Burg day the kids that did
not go to Trenton High went to Saint Anthonys/McCorriston
or Notre Dame.

UPDATE: The man in the center of the top picture with
glasses is Eugene Sackson who was head of the admirable
Trenton High science department in my Trenton High days
of 1977 to 1980.

That young fellow with the varsity sweater in two sports; something you don't see today?

I think many of the best teachers got going in the Catholic system and then to survive if they married had to go over to the public system. I never had Mr. Sackson but I sure remember his face from TCHS.

HI MAC.....I HOPE EVERYONE NOTICED HOW THE STUDENTS AT TRENTON CATHOLIC WERE DRESSED IN THOSE DAYS. MOST HAD JACKETS AND TIES AND APPEARED TO LOOK LIKE CIVILIZED PEOPLE. I MENTION THAT ONLY TO COMPARE THEM TO THE WAY KIDS LOOK LIKE TODAY. I BELIEVE IN DRESSING CASUAL BUT SOME KIDS TODAY WEAR PANTS DOWN TO THEIR BUTT. FATHER SORRENTO, THE WRESLING COACH IS THE BROTHER OF MY FRIEND JOE WHO PLAYED ON THE SOUTHARDS WITH ME IN THE 40'S. BEST REGARDS.

Mr. Sackson got around! He was also a 9th Grade Science teacher at Junior Four in the late 50s before moving over to THS.
