A Sunny Summer Afternoon on Roebling Avenue, The Burg
I took this on my latest Burg picture walk about a

Looking at the awnings reminds me of the heat of the city before air conditioning.

Trying to cool the stucco of the hours, I remember going out with a hose after the sun went down enough and just hoping. It felt better doing something. That is just what I said to my wife since I went out and hosed down the AC unit along side the house. It's in the 90's.

Hi Skip.
In the days before air conditioning
a summer storm was the most welcome
thing as it often cooled us off for a short period and made the air cleaner:)

Yes, Mack .. now you made me remember .. "I smell a storm coming".

The .. wonder part of my wonder year was cool stuff. Like sitting snug under the porch awning and watching it pour and right across the street, Nelson's and MacStravick's lawn was bone dry. The storm split the middle of the street.
