Stephen, Tom Pass & Noel Talk About Bartolini's in The Burg

Stephen, Tom Pass & Noel Talk About Bartolini's in The Burg

Located at 931 Chambers Street, The Burg.
Once upon a time this was Bartolini's Bar
They had Tomato pies

Stephen adds
Back in the 50s & 60s, my dad would take us down to Island
Beach State Park for the day and on the return trip we
frequently would stop at Bartolini's where he would get
us a table in the back and order a half dozen or so tomato
pies. With there being 10 or so of us kids, DeLorenzo's or
Papa's would be out of the question but Bartolini's seemed
able to handle us.

Tom Pass adds...
One of the last "stand up" bars.

Noel adds...
I remember going to Bartolini's in the summertime. The
dining room was like a refridgorator! With the summer heat
it was great!

I remember going there with my neighbor for shots and beers, stand up and drink.

Hi Mac....I'm gonna go back to the 30s when you got a shot and a beer for a quarter at Bartolin's. I think he started out as a shoe repair shop and turned it into a gold mine. Within sight of Wetzel Field, it became the bargain spot of the boozers. And a few feet away was Rossi's Bar & Grill, a delight for all of Chambersburg. As we say in Italy "Salute".

Hi JoeZ & Ralph:)
I can see the Wetzel Field thing.
Its a cool looking building, I
wonder if he expanded after it
went from a shoe shop to a bar:)
