626 South Olden Avenue, Villa Park/Hamilton
Saint Anthonys Catholic Church, a beautiful building:)
Many Burg folks Attended St Anthonys High School
and many passed by this often on busy South Olden
Avenue:)
UPDATE:
Barb P adds......
When I went to St Anthony's HS, we used to have dances
in the basement on Friday nights. November 22, 1963 was
a Friday. We got out of school early and had to go lock
up, 'cause the dance was cancelled. We were all so upset,
went to DeLorenzo's and watched the assassination coverage
on a little TV they had there. It looks a lot different now,
but Al Pingatore worked there then, and he's still there.
Different, but the same.

I love this church. I was baptized and made my First Holy Communion here in 1972. I can remember leaving Kuser School 15 minutes early one day a week to go to CCD and still remember my first day of CCD like it was yesterday. I can also remember coming out of the church after making my Communion and seeing my grandparents waiting for me in the parking lot behind the church. I miss the church carnivals and winning a goldfish every year. :) -K
