Trenton High Football Field Memories
Anon Wrote:
When trenton high played trenton catholic we used to squeeze
under the fencing(no money to pay admittance). after the BIG
game the man selling hot dogs was responsible to clean the mess
his customers made. we would pick up the trash and our pay was
leftover hot dogs and cokes..what a thrill..small memory but
puts a smile on my face

My only fond memories of this field is when I played football
...1960-62 head coach Pat Clemens, line coach Bob Callahan
and we beat our rival Trenton Catholic 60-7 in my senior year.
It was a great day!

I can,t help remembering this field before Trenton High was
built. It was called Chambers Field and it was used by the
Bailly & Barrum Circus.A big event also, was planes flying
overhead dropping bars of Baby Ruth candy. I bet there are
not many who remember that.

My grandfather, Wiiliam C. Yard was a great fan of the circus.
He used to travel to various cities in the Norteast to catch
performances. He lived on Culbertson Ave. For a number of
years he kept a daily journal and it so happened I ended up
in possession of his journal from 1930. He mentions visiting
a traveling circus (Spark's Circus) that set up tent at this
exact location in May 1930.
Wow. Thanks for these great comments everybody:)
